Gainor keeps fifth spot at Jr. Gold

DALLAS—-Samantha Gainor continued her strong bowling during the third day of the Junior Gold Championship, maintaining her fifth place standing as the 855 U-20 competitors head into the final four games of qualifying Thursday.

Gainor, the rising junior at Vanderbilt, is averaging 206.83 over 12 games on a variety of oil patterns at various centers around the city. There is a new tournament leader, Olivia Farwell of Elizbethtown, Pa., is averaging 214.08; Gainor is just six pins out of third place.

Two other Commodores continue to sit high in the standings. Brogan Zengel is 30th and Adel Wahner is 38th. Other Vandy connections include Angelique Dalesandro (149), Kelsey Abrahamsen (188), Bryanna Leyen (231) and Lauren Potechin (566).
