Dores hit summer leagues

July 16, 2018

NASHVILLE – A total of 12 Vanderbilt players are participating in four different summer leagues including five at the prestigious Cape Cod League.

Three players have suited up for the Orleans Firebirds – Pat DeMarco, Philip Clarke and JJ Bleday. All three players are participating for the first time at the Cape. Bleday played in the New England Collegiate Baseball League a season ago, a spot where five Commodores find themselves this season.

Erik Kaiser and Justin Willis are with the NECBL’s Keene Swamp Bats while AJ Franklin is throwing for the league’s Upper Valley Nighthawks. Two more – Jayson Gonzalez and Jake Eder – have joined the Newport Gulls.

Ty Duvall is competing for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters of the Northwoods League while Kiambu Fentress has joined the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders. Elsewhere, in the Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches, Michael Sandborn and Joe Gobillot are in action with the Snowbirds.
