Five Dores set to compete in Oracle ITA National Fall Championships

Surprise, AZ. – Five Commodores travel to Surprise, Arizona this week to compete in the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which begin on Wednesday.
 
The championship tournament is held at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex and concludes the fall tournament season for the Commodores.
 
In attendance for the Dores will be singles Ohio Valley ITA Regional champion Amanda Meyer along with regional doubles champion Dore duo, Christina Rosca and Summer Dvorak.
 
Seniors Fernanda Contreras and Emily Smith will also be attending the tournament to compete for a shot at becoming the national champion in singles play.
 
Contreras enters the national fall championships as the No. 1 singles seed taking on Maria Genovese from Tyler JC in the first round on Wednesday morning.
 
“I’m really excited for this tournament. This is the last fall tournament of my career so I am ready to give it my all and enjoy every moment with my team,” said Contreras.
 
Entering its second year as a tournament replacing the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, the Fall Championships features 64 of the nation’s top collegiate singles players along with 32 ranked doubles pairs. The Oracle ITA national championship tournament is the only tournament that includes players from all five collegiate divisions.
 
The championships begin Wednesday morning with the first round of singles play followed by the first round of doubles.
