Vanderbilt begins season with Indoor Opener

NASHVILLE – Vanderbilt Track & Field will begin its season on Saturday by hosting the Vanderbilt Indoor Opener. This year will mark the sixth straight year that Vanderbilt has hosted a meet on the first weekend of December, going back to Dec. 3, 2013. 
 
General admission tickets are available at the facility for $5. Doors will open at 9 a.m. The Commodores will welcome 20 other schools to their home track on Saturday. Below is a list of teams schedule to compete:

Field Events:
2:00 PM Women’s Pole Vault – Kristen Denk, Margaret Ollinger
 
Running Events:
1:25 PM Women’s 60 Meters – Regan Clay 
2:00 PM Women’s 300 Meters – Regan Clay, Jordan Smith and Taiya Shelby
2:35 PM Women’s 1 Mile Run – Reagan Bustamante, Lauren Moffett and Becca Schulte
5:30 PM Women’s 4 x 400m Relay – Vanderbilt 
 
The Vanderbilt Indoor Opener will be the first of four home meets that the Commodores will host in the 2018-19 season.
 
The Commodores return one All-American in Pole Vaulter, Kristen Denk. She produced a 12th place individual finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track & field Championships last season.
