Vandy tennis team hits road to Athens

Athens, Ga. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team heads to Athens, Georgia to compete in the UGA Fall Invitational, one of the last fall tournaments the Dores will compete in before concluding the fall season. Five Dores will conclude the fall season next weekend heading to Surprise, Arizona to compete in the 2018 ITA/Oracle Fall Championship.

The Commodores will be taking on Illinois, Georgia and Wake Forest in a round-robin style tournament this weekend.

The Dores are looking to carry their success and momentum from last weekend’s June Stewart Invitational, in which the Commodores went undefeated in three days of competition against Georgia Tech, Middle Tennessee State and Texas Tech.

The Fall Invitational is set to kick off Friday morning at 10 a.m. with singles play followed by doubles competition. In the afternoon, the Dores conclude the day by competing in the second round of singles.

This weekend’s matches will be held on Georgia’s Henry Field Stadium Courts and McWhorter Courts. Admission to the invitational is free.
