Pregame Notes
– Vanderbilt is in its 128th year of organized football.
– The Commodores wore all white in the first SEC road game of the season, donning white helmets, uniforms and pants. VU wore all white in the season-opener at Middle Tennessee.
– Vanderbilt won the toss and elected to receive.
– Attendance was 84,478.
– Vanderbilt captains for the game were Oren Burks, Trent Sherfield and Ryan White.

Team Notes
– The Commodores faced off against the team’s third straight ranked opponent, marking the first time since 2009 the Dores played three straight Top 25 teams.
– Vanderbilt went into the half tied with Florida, marking the second time the season the Dores and the opponent went to the locker room even (Kansas State).

Individual Notes
Saige Young and Egidio DellaRippa each earned their first career starts on the offensive line with Young getting the nod at left guard and DellaRippa at right guard.
Caleb Scott earned his first start of the season at wide receiver.
Taurean Ferguson earned his first start of the season in his first game action of 2017 starting at cornerback.
Dimitri Moore made his collegiate debut, seeing action on special teams.
Kenny Hebert made his collegiate debut, checking in on defense in the first half.
– Tre Herndon’s streak of 29 consecutive starts was snapped.
– Kyle Shurmur’s 13-yard touchdown pass to Kalija Lipscomb in the first quarter was Shurmur’s ninth of the season, matching last season’s total.
– Khari Blasingame’s 21-yard catch in the second quarter is the longest catch of his career.
Caleb Scott snagged his first touchdown of the season in the second quarter, catching Shurmur’s 10th TD pass of the season on a 12-yard pass.
Jonathan Wynn registered his first sack of the season in the second quarter.
– Kyle Shurmur’s two TD passes in the first half gives him his third multiple TD game of the season.
Donaven Tennyson hauled in a 35-yard pass in the first half for the longest reception of his career.
Oren Burks paced the Dores in the first half with eight tackles and finished with a career-high 15 stops.
– Safety LaDarius Wiley had 11 tackles – the third straight game in which he has posted 11+ stops.
– Wide receiver CJ Duncan finished with a season-high 75 yards. He had five catches in the game.
– Wide receiver Caleb Scott finished with three catches for 27 yards – both season-highs.
Kyle Shurmur tossed three touchdown passes – the third time this season he has thrown at least three scores.
– Cornerback Taurean Ferguson matched a career-high eight tackles in his first game of the season.

Offensive Notes
– Vanderbilt racked up 199 yards of total offense in the first half, including 161 through the air.
Defensive Notes
– For the second time in five games, the VU defense forced a three-and-out on the opponent’s first possession of the game. The Commodores have not allowed any points on the opponent’s first possession of the game.
– For the fourth time in five games, Vanderbilt’s defense did not allow any points on the opening possession of the second half.

Special Teams Notes
– Tommy Openshaw’s 42-yard field goal near the end of the first half was Vanderbilt’s first field goal of the season.
Sam Loy punted six times for an average of 41.0 yards.
