Pregame Notes

  • Vanderbilt is in its 128th year of organized football.
  • The Commodores wore black helmets, black jerseys and black pants for the senior night game against Missouri.
  • Vanderbilt won the toss and deferred to the second half. Missouri received the opening kick.
  • Attendance was 22,910.
  • Vanderbilt captains for the game were Oren Burks, Trent Sherfield and Ryan White.

Individual Notes

  • Gil Barksdale made his second appearance of the season. He played in the opening game against Middle Tennessee.
  • Ralph Webb rushed for a 20-yard gain in the third quarter to eclipse 4,000 rushing yards for his career. He moved into ninth all-time for rushing yards in the SEC, passing Anthony Dixon.
  • Trent Sherfield caught four passes against the Tigers. He has had at least two catches in every game this season.
  • Josh Smith tallied a career-high seven tackles against Missouri.
  • Kyle Shurmur hit Caleb Scott for a seven-yard touchdown in the third quarter. He tied Whit Taylor (22) for the most passing touchdowns in a season in school history.
  • Donaven Tennyson tied a career high with two receptions against the Tigers.
  • Jared Pinkney caught six passes for a career high 119-yards.

Offensive Notes

  • Vanderbilt has rushed for a touchdown in eight games this season after Ralph Webb‘s scored in the third quarter.
  • The Commodores had nine different receivers catch a pass against Missouri. It is the second straight and fourth game this season they have nine or more catch a pass.

Defensive Notes

  • Vanderbilt stopped Missouri twice on a fourth-down conversion. It is the third time this season they have stopped an opponent twice on fourth down.

Special Team Notes

  • Sam Loy punted six times for an average of 44.8 yards per kick.
  • Tommy Openshaw made his only field goal attempt of the night from 23 yards in the third quarter.
