AIKEN, S.C. – The Vanderbilt men’s golf team ended the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational in 10th place with a final team score of 888 (298-293-297). Senior Adam Hofmann posted the best individual performance for the tournament, ending the three-round event in a tie for 28th and a score of 220 (73-73-74).

Commodore freshman Ben Fogler was next for Vanderbilt, finishing in a tie for 40th, and had the team’s best round of the tournament (72). Sophomore Charlie Ewing fired a 224 (74-73-77, T-45), freshman Hunter Stewart a 225 (78-73-74, T-53), and senior Trey DelGreco ended the tournament with a 232 (80-74-78, T-78).

“Fogler played well today,” said Vanderbilt head coach Tom Shaw. “He’s a tournament player, and it showed today. He got off to a good start and was two-under early in his round. He felt good, just like all golfers do after you get off to a good start.

“Conditions were very different today than they were on Monday. The wind was not blowing as hard, but it was coming from an entirely different direction, and it makes the course play very differently. It felt like we were playing a different course today.”

Clemson claimed the team title with a score of 854 (286-285-283), one stroke better than second-place Virginia. The Cavaliers’ Ben Kohles won medalist honors with a 208 (69-70-69).
