Second Round Results

Severe weather has moved into the Hilton Head area, and the second round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate has been postponed until Sunday. The Commodores, who teed off at 9 a.m. in a shotgun start, have completed half of their round on Saturday and are in fourth place with a team score of 23-over par.

The second round will be completed at 10 a.m. ET on Sunday, and the third round will not be played.

Marina Alex currently has Vanderbilt’s best score of the day with a one-over par through 10 holes. Lauren Stratton is two over through 10 holes, and Irina Gabasa is two over through nine holes. Kendall Martindale is three over through nine, and Rene Sobolewski is four over through 11.

The Commodores trail third-place UCF by three strokes, and tournament-leading Alabama by 21 strokes. The Crimson Tide has an eight stroke lead over second-place North Carolina, and has a total of two-over par.

Stephanie Meadow of Alabama is six-under par and is atop the individual leaderboard. She leads her teammate, Brooke Pancake, and North Carolina player, Katherine Perry, by five shots.

“We knew heading into the round this morning that we’d be lucky to get finished without any delays,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “The girls are a bit bummed when we found out it would be shortened to a 36 hole tournament. We felt like we had some momentum and could make a move. Now with just 6 and 7 holes left, we need to finish strong to make sure we can and get at least a top 3 finish. The conditions were tough again and it was nice to see them hitting quality shots.”
