Tony Kemp’s leadoff bunt in the first inning was the first hit in TD Ameritrade Park.

Aaron Westlake’s sacrifice fly scored Kemp from third base for the first run in TD Ameritrade Park history.

Vanderbilt trailed for the first time in the NCAA Tournament when North Carolina took the lead in the 2nd inning.

Connor Harrell became the first player to hit a home run in College World Series history at TD Ameritrade Park when he crushed a two-run homer over the left field bullpen.

Sonny Gray’s outing lasted just 4.2 innings, his second shortest of the year and shortest since his first start of the year at San Diego (4.1 IP). His five walks matched a career-high and equaled a Vanderbilt pitcher season-high.

The Commodores had five two-out RBI in the game to bring the team’s total to 142 for the year or 35% of the team’s total RBI.

The Commodores improved to 43-4 in games when scoring first and 48-5 when scoring three-plus runs. Vandy is now a perfect 17-0 in games played on Saturday.

Vanderbilt now has 16 come-from-behind wins on the year.

Corey Williams second win of the year was the 15th for the bullpen this year.

Tony Kemp’s three-hit game was his fifth of the season.
