Dores conclude SEC Championships

ATHENS, Ga. – In the last day of the SEC Track & Field Championships, two Commodores earned points for Vanderbilt.

In the finals of the 800-meter run, Rita Jorgensen finished in fifth place with a time of 2:07.82, and scored four points for Vanderbilt.

In Vanderbilt’s final event of the meet, Liz Anderson finished sixth in the 5,000-meter run and earned three points for the Commodores. She clocked a time of 16:41.27. Louise Hannallah finished 13th overall with a time of 17:07.21.

Jordan White just missed out on a scoring position in the 1500-meter finals, as she finished in ninth place with a time of 4:33.51. The eighth-place finisher clocked a time of 4:33.15. Also in the 1500-meter race, Alexa Rogers posted a time of 4:38.63.

The 4×100 meter relay team of Taylor Jackson, Anna Carr Hawkins, Teegan Hill and Josalyn White clocked a time of 46.53 seconds, which was just .01 seconds off their season best time.

Next up for the Commodores is the East Preliminary Round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which will take place in Bloomington, Ind., which will take place May 26-28.
