Day one complete at SEC Men's Championship

SEA ISLAND, Ga. – The Vanderbilt men’s golf team concluded the first round of the 2011 SEC Men’s Golf Championship with a total of 299, which puts them in a tie for 10th place. Ryan Haselden led all Commodores with a two-over par, 72, which ties him for 15th place on the individual leaderboard.

Haselden had two birdies, 12 pars, and four bogeys in his trip around the Seaside Course at the Sea Island Golf Club. Freshman Jordan Janico was next for Vanderbilt with a four-over par, 74.

Florida leads the tournament with a five-over par, 285, one stroke better than Tennessee and Arkansas, who are tied for second. John Peterson of LSU shot a two-under par, 68, to pace all individuals. Peterson leads Phillip Choi of Florida, Bryden MacPherson of Georgia, and Robin Windgardh of Tennessee by one stroke.

Day two of the tournament is Saturday.
