MG finishes 7th at Palmetto Invite

AIKEN, S.C. – Junior Adam Hofmann paced the Vanderbilt effort this week at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational by finishing in third place with a final total of 209 (70-69-70) at the Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C. As a team, the Commodores finished with a score of 877 (291-284-302), which was good for seventh place.

Hofmann’s final-round 70 tied for the fifth-best round of the day, and his 209 total was three strokes back of Harold Varner of East Carolina for second place and eight strokes behind Alabama’s Bud Cauley, who set a new course record with a nine-under par, 201.

Alabama won the team title with an 849 (288-277-284), 11 strokes better than second-place Virginia.
