Bowlers start 4-1 in Bama

Feb. 25, 2011

BESSEMER, Ala. – Vanderbilt joined the leaders at the Holiday Classic Friday evening by winning four of its five games. The Commodores are essentially tied with Arkansas State, Central Missouri, Stephen F. Austin and Nebraska since the won-loss mark will determine the Sunday brackets, but in terms of pin fall, they recorded the third highest total of the day.

Vanderbilt used five different lineups in its five games with all eight of its travel squad getting into the fray at one point or another. The ‘Dores might have gone undefeated on the day had they not registered a meek 135 score in the final Baker game of their match against Stephen F. Austin to lose by 30 pins.

Saturday’s action will be team games. More information from the Holiday Bowl can be found on McCorvey’s Pro Shop.
