Pregame Notes
– Vanderbilt is in its 122nd year of organized football.
– The Commodores wore gold pants, white jerseys and gold helmets. It was the first time this season VU wore gold pants.
– Wake Forest won the toss and elected to receive in the first half.
– The attendance was 28,020.

Team Notes
– Vanderbilt improves to 6-6 on the season and 4-0 in non-conference games this season.
– The Commodores are 8-6 all-time against Wake Forest and 5-2 in Winston-Salem.
– With the win Vanderbilt is bowl eligible for the first time since 2008 when VU won the Music City Bowl.
– Coach Franklin becomes the first, first-year coach at VU to lead the Commodores to a bowl. His six wins in his inaugural campaign is the most since Fred Pancoast won seven games in his first year on West End in 1975.
– The Dores’ first quarter field goal marked the sixth time this season VU scored first in a game. Vanderbilt is now 5-1 when scoring first this season.
– Vanderbilt’s two November wins marks the first time since 1995.
– For the first time since 1982 VU outscored their opponent for the season scoring 323-250.
– The Vandy offense scored 323 points during the season the most since 1948 when the Dores scored 348 points.
– Nine Commodores will become the first players in with Brandon Barden, Tim Fugger, T.J. Greenstone, Casey Hayward, Josh Jelesky, Chris Marve, Sean Richardson, Larry Smith and Udom Umoh earning the honor. The players played in the 2008 Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, a 16-14 victory over Boston College.school history to play in multiple bowl games

Individual Notes
Chase Garnham started for the first time since the Army game on October 22.
Tim Fugger’s forced fumble in the first quarter was his team-leading third of the season and put him in a tie for the most forced fumbles by an active player with Chris Marve.
Archibald Barnes matched Tim Fugger with his third forced fumble later in the first to lead the team.
– With his 15-yard run in the second quarter Zac Stacy passed the 1,000-yard mark for the season. He is the first Commodore to eclipse 1,000 yards in a single season since 1995 when Jermaine Johnson ran for 1,072 yards. Stacy is just the fourth Commodore to run for 1,000 yards in a season.
– Stacy later moved into eighth place all-time with a one-yard touchdown plunge. He has a school record 1,136 yards for his career.
Brandon Barden’s sensational 73-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter was the longest pass play of the season and set career marks for both Barden and Jordan Rodgers and was the longest pass play for VU since 2008 vs. Duke. Barden also set a career-best with 80 yards receiving in the game.
Walker May notched his first sack of the season with a sack in the second quarter.
– With his 20-yard TD run late in the second quarter Zac Stacy notched his third multiple TD game and matched Jamie O’Rourke’s school record for a running back from 1974 with 12 rushing touchdowns in a season.
Zac Stacy rushed for more than 100 yards for the fifth time this season marking the most 100 yards games by a Commodore since Jermaine Johnson’s five 100-yard games in 1995.
Larry Smith’s 45-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Matthews in the third quarter was Smith’s first TD pass since the UConn game and his longest completion of the season. The touchdown reception for Matthews was his fourth in the last five games.
Zac Stacy set the school record for rushing in a single season with his 40-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Stacy has 1,136 yards this season passing Corey Harris’ school record of 1,103 from 1991. Stacy’s third score of the night gave him his third, three-touchdown game of the year and the most by a running back in school history (13). His 28 carries on the night also matched a career-best.

Defense
– The Commodores’ defense did not allow a point in the first quarter for the seventh time this season. VU has outscored opponents 57-30 in the first quarter.
– For the first time this season the Vanderbilt defense did not allow a point in the second half.

Offense
– For the first time this season the VU offense scored on its first four possessions with two field goals and two touchdowns.
– The Commodores have scored 20+ points in seven straight games marking the first time since the first seven games of the 1984 season when VU went 5-6 under head coach George MacIntyre.
– Vanderbilt’s 27 points in the first half were the most this season.
– For the fifth time this season the Commodores rushed for over 200 yards ending the day with 297 yards on the ground.
– Vanderbilt’s 41 points are the most by the Dores against a BCS opponent since scoring 45 points in a win against Duke in 2006.
– The VU offense racked up 481 yards of offense on 71 plays to average 6.8 yards per play in the win.

Special Teams
Ryan Fowler’s 33-yard field goal was his second of the season and a season-long. The field goal snapped a 1-for-5 streak and was just the third made field goal for Vanderbilt since the South Carolina Game on September 24.
– Fowler’s second field goal of the first quarter marked the first time this season the Dores made two field goals in a game.
