Bowlers seize tourney lead

Nov. 19, 2011

MILLSBORO, Del. —Vanderbilt pulled into the lead after the second day of Maryland-Eastern Shore’s Hawk Classic. The Commodores had the second best team game set of the day while going 4-1 in head-to-head action.

“We did a decent job of grinding it out and are 7-2 here but we have to learn to do a better job of controlling our emotions,” said Coach John Williamson. “The lane conditions are difficult but they are difficult for everyone.”

Vanderbilt is once again in the championship bracket and faces No. 2 seed Fairleigh Dickinson in Sunday’s first best four-of-seven Baker play. The winner advances into the title game; this is the identical circumstance as two weeks ago when the Commodores were at FDU’s home event.
