Vanderbilt senior Ryan Haselden posted a three-round total of 221 (73-70-78, +5) to finish ninth individually and led the Commodores to a sixth-place finish as a team at The Invitational at Kiawah: The Invitational at The Ocean Course. Junior Adam Hoffman, who played his first tournament since the spring of 2009, finished a stroke behind Haselden (222, 76-74-72, +6) to finish in a tie for 10th place.
As a team, Vanderbilt finished with a three-round score of 889 (297-295-297< +25),16 strokes back of champions, NC State, who finished with an 873.

– Freshman Charlie Ewing had the team’s best score of the day with a 71. Hoffman shot a 72 for VU’s second-lowest total on Tuesday
– The Commodores’ next tournament comes September 24-26 at their own Mason Rudolph Championship.
– John Duke Hudson of host College of Charleston claimed medalist honors with a two-under par, 214.
