KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt track team competed at the Tennessee Invitational on Saturday. The ‘Dores won four out of the seven events in which they competed, including big performances by senior transfer Buky Bamigboye and sophomore Allie Scalf.

Bamigboye tied former Vanderbilt All-American Ryan Tolbert’s long jump record, jumping 19-10.25 and placing first. Bamigboye also placed third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.92.

“Buky got a solid long jump mark,” Vanderbilt assistant coach Clark Humphreys commented. “It was low key meet, and our ladies took advantage of it by honing in on last min preparations for conference.”

Scalf won her first collegiate race in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:40.57. Scalf finished ahead of teammates Louise Hannallah (4:41.49) and Alexa Rogers (4:45.92) to round out the top three.

“Allie continues to run well and it was great to see her win her first collegiate race,” Vanderbilt distances coach Steve Keith remarked. “Allie looks in great shape for the Steeplechase next Saturday evening at the SEC Championships.”

The Commodores will compete in the SEC Championships May 13-16 at the Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium on the campus of the University of Tennessee. The schedule for the Championships can be found here.
