NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Gold Team finished off a series sweep but they had to earn it with a 5-3 win Sunday afternoon at Hawkins Field.

Junior Aaron Westlake put on a power display for the Gold squad hitting three home runs on the afternoon and driving in four of the team’s five runs. Junior Joe Loftus added a solo home run for the fifth run. Westlake’s first homer came in the first inning with two outs, the California-native hit a solo shot to center field to give the Gold Team an early advantage.

After the Black Team had taken their first lead of the series with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth, Westlake crushed his second home run to the back of the bleachers in right field. His third round tripper of the day, a two-run shot in the sixth, proved to be the game breaker.

Freshman Conrad Gregor led the Black Team with three hits and Connor Harrell added two RBI in a losing effort.

Sophomore Will Clinard earned the win in relief working three scoreless innings for the Gold Team. Senior Mark Lamm took the loss giving up Westlake’s two-run homer in the sixth.
