GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Vanderbilt freshman sprinter Teegan Hill posted a top-10 time in the women’s 400-meter preliminaries to lead the Commodore track and field team at the third day of the SEC Outdoor Championships Saturday. Hill’s quarter-mile time of 55.48, came one place short of qualifying for tomorrow’s open 400 finals.

VU’s Rita Jorgensen and Jordan White posted the team’s top 1500-meter times Saturday with Jorgensen finishing one spot back of qualifying for tomorrow’s 1500 finals. Jorgensen clocked a 4:29.78, good for 13th place while White nearly matched her personal record with a 4:32.79, placing 15th. Kate Southcote-Want posted a 4:46.53 in the 1500 while Erin McManus turned in a 5:00.66.

Josalyn White competed in the 100-meter dash, running a 12.64 while Sheri Sullivan was the lone Commodore to compete in field events Saturday with a leap of 17-04.75 in the women’s long jump.

The SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships continue at 12 p.m. EST Sunday at Percy Beard Track and James G. Pressly Stadium.

Vanderbilt’s 4×100 meter relay team of Anna Carr, Taylor Jackson, Josalyn White and Teegan Hill will compete on the Percy Beard Track at 5:10 p.m.

VU’s Louise Hannallah, Adrienne DiRaddo, Amanda Scott and Alexa Rogers will run in the women’s 5K at 8:05 EST tomorrow night while pole-vaulters Katherine Hendricks and Meagan Martin will compete in the women’s pole vault at 3 p.m.

Mallory Hitt will look to score points for the Commodores tomorrow in the women’s high jump.
