TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Vanderbilt men’s golf team moved up four spots on the final day of play at the 2007 Seminole Intercollegiate to finish in a tie for ninth place with Northwestern Tuesday at the Golden Eagle Country Club.

Senior Luke List rallied on the back nine to shoot a one-under 71 on Tuesday, moving himself into a tie for 10th place in the field of 78 golfers. The Seminole marks his fourth Top 10 finish in six team events this year.

Junior Billy Whalen carded a one-over 73 on Tuesday, figuring into the team score for the first time this week. The Commodores remaining golfers — senior Dos Goldsmith, sophomore Jon Curran and freshman Chris Rockwell — all went two-over on the day.

Auburn took the team title by firing a one-under 287 on Tuesday to defeat North Carolina by five strokes. Host Florida State, East Tennessee State and UAB rounded out the top five, followed by Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana State, Vanderbilt and Northwestern.

With three events remaining before the SEC Championships, the Commodores travel to Laredo, Texas, in to weeks to compete in the Border Olympics.
