MG: Final Results At Bulls Bay

AWENDAW, S.C. — The Vanderbilt men’s golf team was unable to improve its position in Tuesday’s final round at the Hootie at Bulls Bay, finishing the tournament in 14th place at 33-over par.

Wake Forest and Baylor tied for the team championship at 12-under. Florida State (-7) and UCF (-6) rounded out the top four, with no other teams shooting under par.

Augusta State Wallace Booth fired a six-under 65 on Tuesday to take medalist honors by one stroke. Booth edged UCF’s Greg Forest and Wake Forest’s Webb Simpson.

Senior Luke List paced the Commodores, notching a Top 20 finish in the field of 75 golfers. List’s two-under on Tuesday brought his tournament total back to even-par and vaulted him into a tie for 17th place.

The remaining Commodores all scored plus-10 or higher. Junior Billy Whalen posted the second-best round of the day, a three-over 74. He finished in a tie for 58th, one stroke behind teammate Jon Curran.

The Commodores’ final tuneup before the Southeastern Conference Championships comes in two weeks, when Vanderbilt travels to Cary, N.C., to participate in the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate.
