MG: Vanderbilt Second After Day One

LAREDO, Texas — The Vanderbilt men’s golf team stands in second place after the first day of the Border Olympics at the Laredo Country Club.

Vanderbilt stands 11 strokes back of Lamar for the tournament lead with one round to play. UT-Arlington, Houston and Baylor round out the tournament’s top five.

Thirty-six holes were played on Friday, with Commodore sophomore Jon Curran finishing the first day in a tie for sixth place at -5. Senior Luke List — the first-round leader — is locked in at 11th place.

UT-Arlington’s Zack Reeves holds the lead after 36 holes at -7. Four golfers are tied at -6, one stroke ahead of Curran.

The tournament’s final 18 holes will be played on Saturday.
