Team Records and Series Notes:
– Vanderbilt improves to 13-0, while Iona falls to 5-9.
– Vanderbilt’s 13-0 start is the best start in school history, surpassing the 2003-04 Commodores who won their first 12 games of the year.
– The Commodores are now 2-0 all-time against Iona and 3-0 against schools from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Vanderbilt Team Notes:
– Key Run: Leading 46-41 at halftime, the Commodores opened the second half on a 26-5 run to take a 72-46 advantage. Vanderbilt scored the first 10 points of the half as Iona only scored three points in the first 6:42 of the second half. The Gaels only made two field goals in the first 9:15 of the half.
– Key Stat: Vanderbilt had one of its best shooting days of the season, making 28-of-50 (56.0 percent) shots from the floor and 11-of-20 (55.0 percent) from the three-point line. While Iona made 49.1 percent of its shots from the field, the Commodores were able to limit the Gaels to only 5-of-18 (27.8 percent) shooting from beyond the arc.
– The 97 points scored by the Commodores is their highest scoring output on the season.
– Vanderbilt won the rebounding battle 32-24, marking the seventh time this season that the Commodores have claimed the rebounding category.
– The Commodores attempted a season-high 38 free throws in the game, making 30 of them. Vanderbilt has attempted at least 30 free throws in five games this season.
– Vanderbilt dished out 24 assists, while committing 16 turnovers.
– The 24-point win marks the largest margin of victory on the season for Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt Individual Notes:
– Freshman center Andrew Ogilvy scored 20 points, tying Shan Foster for the team high. Ogilvy has scored 20 points in seven games this season. Ogilvy also grabbed nine rebounds and had two blocks.
– Ogilvy made a career-high 12 free throws on a career-high 13 attempts. The 12 free throws made in a game is the most for a Commodore since Matt Freije made 18 free throws against Indiana on November 24, 2003.
– Senior swingman Shan Foster also tallied 20 points. With today’s performance, Foster moves into eighth place on the Vanderbilt career scoring list with 1,581 points, passing Jeff Fosnes (1973-76). Foster also made five three-pointers in today’s game to give him 286 in his career, 12 behind Ronnie McMahan (1992-95) on the Vanderbilt three-point field goals made list.
– Senior center Alan Metcalfe added 14 points for the Commodores, 10 of those coming in the second half. Metcalfe also tied a career-high with three blocks.
– Sophomore guard/forward George Drake scored a career-high 10 points.
– Freshman guard Elliott Cole saw his first action as a Commodore.
