Post-DePaul Game Quotes

Dec. 12, 2007

Recap | Box Score

Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings

Opening statements…
“We were extremely lucky to win the game. Their team played better than us for more of the game, and I told Jerry (Wainwright) that at the end of the game. But, we found a way, and that’s what these guys do. If we play good, they find a way, and if they play bad, they find a way.”

On the bench play…
“In the second half, we got a good lift from the bench. Keegan (Bell) came in and played solid for us, and Alan (Metcalfe) really picked it up for us.”

On the second half…
“Scoring really energized us in the second half. We didn’t play well defensively or offensively tonight, but we’ll take it.”

On his team’s effort…
“I’m proud of their belief in what we do. They believed they could do it, and they did it.”

On A.J. Ogilvy’s effort…
“He had early foul trouble, and we didn’t take care of the ball to get it to him. When we started taking care of the ball, he got going a little bit. Alan (Metcalfe) really came in and got us going in second half, and A.J. just picked up on that.”
