Men’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Honors

Commodores named to All-Academic Team, two earn individual recognitions

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s tennis has earned the ITA All-Academic Team award, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Monday morning. Additionally, two Commodore players were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Overall, 933 Division I Men’s student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 163 men’s tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.0 scale). All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year and the organization rounds up to the nearest tenth for the minimum GPA requirement.

This marks the third consecutive year that the Black and Gold have earned this honor and 10th in program history.

With Vandy duo – Joubert Klopper and Connor Robb-Wlicox – named ITA Scholar-Athletes, this marks the 17th year a Dore has been represented for this individual academic honor. Klopper has garnered the honor three-times during his academic career, while this is a career-first for Robb-Wilcox.

Student-athletes eligible for ITA Scholar-Athlete status must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
