Mason Participating in National Title Telecast

Coaches Film Room Show to air Monday on ESPNU

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason will appear as a featured analyst for the College Football Playoff national title game this Monday.

Mason will join Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy, TCU’s Gary Patterson and Boston College’s Jeff Hafley as commentators for the Coaches Film Room, which will air during the championship tilt between No. 1 LSU and No. 3 Clemson.

The Coaches Film Room, part of ESPN’s Megacast coverage, will air on ESPNU, starting at 7 p.m.

Mason will be making his third Megacast appearance, and second on the Coaches’ Film Room. He also provided analysis for the Ohio State-Oregon championship game in 2015 and the Alabama-Clemson semifinal matchup in 2018.

The show, produced in a casual studio setting, allows the head coaches to provide relaxed commentary of key plays and strategies while breaking down the X’s and O’s of the LSU-Clemson encounter in real time. The participating coaches also will have access to every camera ESPN uses during the broadcast, including the All-22, Skycam and high-end zone location angles.

The show will be produced from the ESPN Regional Studios in Charlotte, North Carolina.
