Klinger/Rowe Open NCAA Doubles Championship

No. 7 duo will face North Carolina pair in first round

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Cameron Klinger and junior Billy Rowe will enter the NCAA Doubles Championship as the No. 7-ranked duo in the nation on Tuesday at the USTA Tennis Complex in Orlando, Florida.

The pair will face North Carolina’s William Blumberg and Bo Boyden in the Round of 32.

No. 13 Blumberg and Boyden enter the championship sporting a 19-5 season record, coming off of a loss to Wake Forest’s No. 63 duo Alan Gadjiev and Borna Gojo, 6-3.

Entering the matchup as All-Americans, Klinger/Rowe currently hold a three-match win streak and boast a 15-8 season record, only dropping one match on the road.

The pair recently upset No. 3 Mississippi duo Nuno Borges and Strahinja Rakic, 6-4, in the first SEC Championships.

“It means a lot to be able to play in Orlando. A lot of our hard work is paying off, but we’re not done yet,” said Rowe. “We’ve been playing better and better as the season has gone on so we’re just hoping to keep playing like we’ve been playing. There’s a lot of really good teams here so we’re just excited to get out there and see what we can do.”

Last season, the duo fell in the Round of 32 to UCLA’s No. 16 Austin Rapp and Leegan Smith, 6-3, 6-3. The pair capped the 2018 season with a 15-7 overall record.
