Looking Astern

  • Vanderbilt swept Tennessee State in a midweek match before coming short of upsetting No. 1 Florida, then falling to No. 10 South Carolina.
  • Against the Gators, Vanderbilt won the doubles point and trailed 3-2 with George Harwell and Jeremie Casabon on court, but it wasn’t to be thanks to a late break with Vanderbilt’s upset attempt coming up just short at 4-3.

A Look Back at 2020

  • A season ago, Vanderbilt posted a 7-6 record through 13 matches before the remainder of the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
  • Harwell led the way with a 10-3 dual-match singles record, including eight wins at No. 1.
  • The Commodores went 5-2 at home a season ago with the only defeats a 4-2 loss to No. 21 Florida State and a conference defeat against Texas A&M.

On The Radar

  • Vanderbilt will have a week away from competition before it makes its way to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the SEC Tournament starting April 19. Both the opponent and match time from the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center are still to be determined.
  • As information about the tournament is available, it will be posted on social media and VUCommodores.com.
