Hawks, Nye Recognized by Perfect Game

Sawyer Hawks named All-America

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt’s Sawyer Hawks was named Second Team All-America and Austin Nye was named First Team Freshman All-America, Perfect Game announced Tuesday.

Hawks finished the 2025 campaign with a 4-0 record and a 1.60 ERA over 18 appearances. He held opposing hitters to a .167 average and totaled 59 strikeouts to 11 walks.

The senior was named Second Team All-SEC after finishing the regular season with the league’s lowest ERA among pitchers with at least six games played. He ranked sixth in the SEC in saves during the regular season. Five of his six saves came in SEC games.

Hawks was also honored as a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award. The recipient of the award will be announced on June 13.

Nye also earned Freshman All-America honors from NCBWA on Monday.

He made 15 starts on the mound this season, compiling a 2-1 record with a 3.55 ERA. The freshman totaled 50.2 innings with 58 strikeouts. He held Ole Miss to one run on two hits over 4.2 innings in the SEC Championship game, helping lead the Commodores to the program’s fifth SEC Tournament championship.
