Enrique Bradfield Jr. named finalist for Gold Glove Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt freshman outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. was named a finalist for the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I Gold Glove Team, announced Monday by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods.

The finalists are voted on and selected by the ABCA NCAA Division I All-America committee. Five of the finalists are participating in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

Bradfield looks to become the fourth player in program history to earn the honor and first since Jeren Kendall took home the award in 2017.

The Hialeah, Florida, native was tabbed as the 2021 SEC Freshman of the Year while also being named to the All-SEC first team, SEC All-Defensive Team and receiving Freshman All-SEC honors.

In all divisions, the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Teams will be announced Wednesday by Rawlings via Twitter.

The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007 and are presented annually to the top defensive players from each division of collegiate and high school baseball.

Vanderbilt returns to action Wednesday in the College World Series when it faces Stanford in an elimination game. The two teams are set for a 6 p.m. matchup airing live on ESPN.
