NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt freshman Austin Nye was named Second Team Freshman All-America, the NCBWA announced Monday.
Nye made 15 starts on the mound this season, compiling a 2-1 record with a 3.55 ERA. The freshman totaled 50.2 innings with 58 strikeouts. He held Ole Miss to one run on two hits over 4.2 innings in the SEC Championship game, helping lead the Commodores to the program’s fifth SEC Tournament championship.
Nye joins Carter Holton, Enrique Bradfield Jr., Austin Martin, Bryan Reynolds, Kevin Ziomek and T.J. Pecoraro as Commodores to earn NCBWA Freshman All-America honors. He is the first since Holton in 2022.
