Five Commodores Named All-SEC

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Multiple Vanderbilt student-athletes received Southeastern Conference honors, as the SEC announced its league awards for the 2022 baseball season Monday, voted on by conference coaches.

The duo of Dominic Keegan and Enrique Bradfield Jr. were each named to the All-SEC first team, while Spencer Jones was selected to the All-SEC second team. The Commodores were one of two teams to have multiple first-team selections, joining Tennessee.

Keegan concluded the regular season with a .366 average to rank fifth in the league, while tying for fourth in the conference RBI with 57 on the year. Bradfield led the SEC in stolen bases, going a perfect 42-for-42 on attempts, while placing fourth in runs scored with 60.

Jones leads the Commodores in batting average with a .379 mark, while ranking fourth in the conference. He concluded the regular season with 18 doubles to place second in the league.

The rookie duo of Devin Futrell and Carter Holton were selected to the Freshman All-SEC Team, as Vanderbilt was one three teams to have multiple freshman honorees.

Futrell and Holton both wrapped up the regular season ranked in the top 10 of the league in wins. Futrell tied for second with eight wins, while Holton tied for sixth with seven on the campaign.

Bradfield was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team for a second consecutive seasons, serving as the lone Vanderbilt honoree on the list. With the selection, the Commodores have had at least one player named to the conference All-Defensive Team in 13 of the last 14 SEC seasons including nine consecutive.

Vanderbilt opens play in the SEC Tournament against Ole Miss on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The contest will be aired live on SEC Network.
