Eagles the New Team in Town

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt concludes its two-game homestand when Winthrop comes to town for Saturday’s 1 p.m. CT matchup.
 
The Commodores (6-1) are coming off a dominant 19-7 victory over New Hampshire on Wednesday and have secured their best start in program history.
 
The Dores find themselves nationally ranked in several categories. They are fourth in assists per game (8.71), fourth in caused turnovers per game (14.14) and ninth in points per game (22.83). Vanderbilt also finds itself leading the American Athletic Conference in 11 other statistical categories.
 
Melissa Hawkins has led the defense so far for the Commodores and is 13th in the country in caused turnovers per game (2.29) and first in the AAC.
