NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s basketball hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a Saturday afternoon matinee at Memorial Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on SEC Network+.

HISTORIC (HOT) START

  • For the first time in program history, Vanderbilt opened the season with back-to-back 100-point games. The Dores opened the year with 105-point outbursts vs. Lipscomb and at UCF.
  • Vanderbilt added a 92-point performance in the win over Eastern Kentucky, giving the Dores three-straight 90-point games for the first time since 2007.
  • The opening onslaught marks the first consecutive 100-point games since 1980 for Vanderbilt.
  • Another 90-point performance would mark the first time Vandy has topped 90 in four-straight games since that same 1980 stretch.

ANALYTICS ASSESSMENT

  • Vanderbilt is a favorite among the numerous computer rankings this season.
  • KenPom has the Dores ranked 12th nationally with the No. 6 offense in the country.
  • EvanMiya has Vandy slotted 18th with the seventh-best offensive rating.
  • Bart Torvik has the Commodores 11th overall and tabs the offense as the No. 3 attack in the nation.
  • The Dores are the highest rated SEC offense in all three analytic systems.

BALL CONTROL

  • Vanderbilt ranks fourth nationally assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.77. The mark also leads the SEC.
  • The Commodores rank ninth in the country in fewest turnovers committed, averaging just 7.3 per game. The mark again stands atop the SEC.
  • Against UCF, the Dores did not commit a single live-ball turnover. It marked the first time since 2016 a Commodore opponent did not record a steal.
  • Duke Miles ranks 18th nationally with an 8.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
  • Through two games, Vanderbilt has 61 assists on 112 made baskets.

FIRST HALF SHUTDOWNS

  • Vanderbilt’s defense has stifled opponents in the first half through the opening three games, allowing just 89 points in the first 20 minutes this season.
  • The Dores held both Lipscomb and Eastern Kentucky below 30 points in the first half. UCF owns the high-water mark for opponents, scoring 36 in the first half.
  • Foes are shooting just 34 percent from the field in the opening half against Vanderbilt this season.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Saturday’s contest will be the first between Vanderbilt and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
