Dores Host ITA Kick-Off

Vanderbilt readies for first dual match

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team hosts the 2020 ITA Kick-Off weekend beginning Friday at the Currey Tennis Center.

On Friday, Vanderbilt will face Penn at 3 p.m. following the conclusion of Northwestern vs. Arizona State.

Friday’s matchup will mark the Dores’ first dual match of the season.

The Commodores enter the event as the No. 9 team in the nation coming off a successful run in the Miami Spring Invite where they claimed 15 victories.

The Dores will take on an undefeated Pennsylvania team after the Quakers clinched their spring season opener over Richmond 4-3.

On Saturday, the winners of Friday’s matches will battle for a spot in the ITA National Team Indoors set to take place Feb. 7 in Chicago.

Last season, Vanderbilt clinched the match over Oklahoma 4-3 to advance to the National Team Indoors where they fell in the quarterfinals to No. 5 Georgia.

The first match of the weekend will begin at noon Friday. Admission to this weekend’s matches is free.
