Nov. 1, 2007

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Senior forward Sarah Dennis was named to ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-District IV team today.

Dennis owns a 3.59 grade point average as a double major in philosophy and art studio and was a second-team all-district selection. She has made the Southeastern Conference’s Academic Honor Roll from 2004-2007 and Vanderbilt’s Dean’s List the last two school years.

The Germantown, Tenn., native has also excelled on the field with 68 starts in 81 games entering the final weekend of the year. She is third on the team in scoring with four goals and two assists, including a career-best three goal performance against Tennessee Tech on Sept. 9.

Dennis has used her artistic skills in the community with murals at child care centers and one at the home of Vanderbilt soccer coach Ronnie Coveleskie.

“Sarah has the best of worlds in my opinion,” said Coveleskie. “She has the creative and artistic flair that she brings to the field, and also has the disciplined, hardworking effort of a Vanderbilt student. She has always been a lot of fun to watch and coach and it is good to see her hard work pay off with this recognition.”
