NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Althea Thomas, director of Vanderbilt cross country and track and field announced the program’s cross country schedule Monday. The lineup features three repeat events from the 2023 season and one addition.
For the third year in a row, the squad will kick off its season in Nashville on Aug. 30 at the Belmont Opener. In 2023, the women earned a runner-up finish, while the Commodore men came in third.
Vandy’s other regular season meets include Jacksonville State’s Southern Showcase (Sept. 13), the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational (Oct. 4) and Wisconsin’s Pre-Nationals (Oct. 19).
The 2024 SEC Championships will be Nov. 1, in College Station, Texas. Last season, the Commodore women recorded their best finish under Thomas, coming in seventh.
Two weeks later, the Dores will travel to Tallahassee, Florida, for the NCAA South Region Championships (Nov. 15). The 2024 NCAA DI Cross Country Championships will be Nov. 23 in Madison, Wisconsin.
