Concluding the Championships

Vanderbilt finished competing at the SEC Championships

ATHENS, Ga. – Vanderbilt closed the 2021 SEC Swimming Champions on Saturday with competitive times at the Gabrielsen Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia.

Lizzy Colwell was the Dores’ top finisher in the 200-yard breaststroke prelims, clocking in with a time of 2:15.64. Lindsey Gordon touched the wall not far behind Colwell, at 2:17.48.

Eleanor Beers turned in a 51.10 finish in the prelims of the 100-yard freestyle. Beers was followed by five teammates in the event, led by Kaley Buchanan’s 51.68 finish.

Capping the SEC Championships with the 400-yard freestyle relay, the quartet of Tonner DeBeer, Beers, Gabriela Pierobon Mays and Buchanan combined for a time of 3:26.33.

The Commodores finished in 12th place with a four-day total of 154 points.
