Commodores Splitting Weekend Events

The Vanderbilt track and field team will travel to Durham, North Carolina, and Auburn, Alabama, to take part in the Duke and Auburn Invitationals.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt track and field team will travel to Durham, North Carolina, and Auburn, Alabama, to take part in the Duke and Auburn Invitationals.

Twenty-four Commodores are expected to compete at Duke while eight will compete at Auburn.

Reagan Bustamante and Grace Jensen are expected to lead six Commodores that are competing in the 1,500-meter run. Bustamante is also expected to lead another six Commodores competing in the 800 meters, along with Haley Walker.

Kristen Denk will lead the squad at Auburn. The pole vaulter broke her own school record last weekend in her first outdoor meet of the season, clearing 14-3.25 (4.35 meters). Junior teammate Margaret Ollinger covered her best mark of the outdoor season last weekend at 13-1.50 (4.00 meters).

Taiya Shelby will compete in the 400 meters and 200 meters, while teammate Jenn Edobi will run the 1,500 meters for the first time in her career.
