Vanderbilt hits the road to face Cincinnati

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt hits the road to face Cincinnati on Saturday at noon CT at Gettler Stadium.

The Commodores (10-3, 2-1) are coming off their dominant 22-15 victory over UConn last Sunday in Nashville.

With the win over UConn, the Commodores secured a berth to the AAC Tournament. The Commodores will head to the postseason for the first time since 2013.

Gabby Fornia currently ranks 24th nationally in assists (31) and 17th in assists per game (2.38).

Sophie Furlong leads the Commodores in goals this season with 27 and already has three five-goal games this season. Her shot percentage of 0.659% is good for second in the country.

The Dores have been dominant on both sides of the field, ranking third nationally in assists per game (8.77), fourth in caused turnovers per game (12.92) and ninth in points per game (24.00).

The Commodores also rank seventh nationally in free-position percentage (.500), 15th in scoring margin (5.00) and 11th in scoring offense (15.23).

Melissa Hawkins leads the Commodore defense and is ranked 13th nationally with 2.17 caused turnovers per game. She recently recorded her 50th career caused turnover against Florida.
