AT THE TIP
- Vanderbilt men’s basketball returns home to face Tennessee Tech on Friday in a 2 p.m. tipoff at Memorial Gymnasium. The Commodores are looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season after falling to Drake in the Charleston Classic championship game.
- The contest will stream on SEC Network+ and ESPN+ with Andrew Allegretta and Shan Foster on the call. Fans can also catch the game on 94.9 The Fan with Kevin Ingram and Tim Thompson.
2-1 IN CHARLESTON
- Vanderbilt returns home from following a 2-1 weekend and runner-up finish at the Charleston Classic.
- The Commodores knocked off Nevada and Seton Hall to reach the finals.
- The 2-1 week marked just the second time since 2015-16 the Dores left an MTE with a winning record, joining the 2021-22 Diamond Head Classic.
SHORT STOP HOME
- Friday marks Vanderbilt’s lone home game for over a month span. The Dores last played in Memorial Gymnasium on Nov. 16 prior to the Charleston Classic.
- Following Friday’s game with Tennessee Tech, Vanderbilt travels to Virginia Tech (Dec. 4) and TCU (Dec. 8) before finals break.
- Vanderbilt’s next home game comes Dec. 18 vs. The Citadel.
EDWARDS ERUPTS
- Junior Jason Edwards had his best scoring game in a Vanderbilt uniform in the Charleston Classic final as he dropped 26 points against Drake.
- Edwards finished 7-of-13 from the field and 2-of-5 from three while connecting on 10-of-11 free throws.
- Edwards continues to lead the Dores in scoring, reaching double figures in all seven games this season and eclipsing 15 points six times.
- At the free throw line, Edwards leads the way at 87.5 percent. That mark stands third in the SEC.
SERIES HISTORY
- Vanderbilt and Tennessee Tech meet for the 21st time on Friday. It is the first meeting in nearly 16 years.
- The Dores are 14-6 all-time against the Golden Eagles and 12-1 in Memorial Gymnasium. Vanderbilt has won six straight in the series.
