Vanderbilt baseball travels to Oklahoma State in 2021

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Another nonconference matchup is set for Vanderbilt’s 2021 baseball schedule, as the Commodores will travel to Oklahoma State from March 12-14, it was announced Tuesday.

The Commodores’ three-game series with the Cowboys will serve as the final weekend tuneup before Southeastern Conference play begins. Most recently, the two teams have met twice with both meetings serving as fall exhibitions in 2018 and 2019.

This season’s series will serve as the first official meeting between the two schools since 2010 when the Commodores earned a 7-6 victory in Los Angeles.

After the series with Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt opens Southeastern Conference play at home the following weekend when the club takes on South Carolina (March 19-21). The Commodores will also host league foes Georgia (April 9-11), Mississippi State (April 23-25), Alabama (May 7-9) and Kentucky (May 20-22).

The Commodores’ SEC road slate includes trips to Missouri (March 26-28), LSU (April 2-4), Tennessee (April 16-18), Florida (April 30-May 2) and Ole Miss (May 14-16).

Vanderbilt has been ranked in the top 10 in four preseason polls. Most recently, the Commodores were tabbed fourth in Baseball America’s Preseason Top 25.

Vanderbilt opens the season Feb. 19 by welcoming Wright State to Hawkins Field for a three-game weekend series. It marks just the second time in the past five seasons that the Commodores will begin the season at home.
