NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin called Jackson Gillis “our go-to guy out of the bullpen” during the 2018 season. This spring, Gillis returns as a junior relief pitcher for the Commodores, who enter the preseason as the No. 1-ranked team in several polls. Gillis, who posted a 4-1 record and a 4.81 ERA across 20 appearances in 2018, stands to be a key piece of Vanderbilt’s pitching puzzle as it looks to return to the College World Series.
Gillis joined the Commodore Insider Podcast to preview Vanderbilt’s 2019 baseball season, discuss the target on the Commodores’ back as the No. 1 team in the country, assess his own evolution as a pitcher at Vanderbilt and much more.
