NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Pitcher Kumar Rocker has been named to the Perfect Game/Rawlings College Freshmen All-America second team, as announced Thursday.
The Athens, Georgia, product has gone 8-1 with a 2.31 ERA in his past nine starts, striking out 65 across 58.1 innings while limiting opponents to a .205 average.
Rocker captivated the country last week by fanning 19 batters to punctuate Vanderbilt’s first individual no-hitter since 1971 as part of a 3-0 victory against Duke in the NCAA Super Regionals. He became the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in the Super Regionals and eighth to do so in the NCAA Tournament.

Entering the season, Georgia’s Gatorade Player of the Year was tabbed the nation’s third-ranked right-handed pitcher and eight-best overall player in the 2018 class by Perfect Game.
Rocker enters the College World Series with a 10-5 record and 3.50 ERA across 17 appearances and 14 starts.
