Rosca named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Making a statement on the court and in the classroom, senior Christina Rosca is named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The 2020 Academic All-District team represents the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

Rosca, who recently graduated with highest honors in neuroscience, boasts a 3.75 GPA, is a six-time member of the Dean’s List and has been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll all four years.

On the court, the All-American has excelled during her four years as a Commodore to earn 99 career singles wins and will be returning for her extra year of eligibility.

In the shortened 2020 season, Rosca notched a 19-9 overall career singles record and was 8-2 in dual matches. In the fall, Rosca advanced to the Round of 32 in the Oracle ITA Fall Nationals and the quarterfinals of the ITA All-American Championships.

During her senior campaign, Rosca led the team in conference play to earn a perfect 4-0 record and maintained a five-match win streak after clinching the upset over No. 2 Ohio State with a win over No. 11 Shiori Fukuda to mark her ninth win over a ranked opponent. Rosca finished the season leading the conference as the highest ranked singles player in the SEC at No. 18 and reached her highest ranking at No. 8.

Over the past four years, Rosca has been named First Team All-SEC, SEC All-Tournament team, SEC All-Freshman team, ITA Regional Player to Watch and named the SEC Player of the Week (2/19/20).

Rosca represents Vanderbilt as the only student-athlete to be named to the All-District team.
